The research activity of Dr. Cremades is focused mainly on topics related to biology and applications of the seaweeds present on Galician coasts. He has collaborated with companies such as PORTO-MUIÑOS S.L. and ALGAFRÉS S.L. both to revalue the seaweeds of Galicia from the gastronomic point of view as well as to develop or optimize its cultivation techniques. The laboratory launched by Dr. Cremades at UDC was the germ of a technology-based spin-off company, PHYCOSEM MARINE AGRONOMY.
