BTEM Awards

The AZTI technology center and the Basque Food Cluster are calling for entries for the third edition of the Basque Food Innovation Awards (BTEM), which seek to recognize the work and efforts of Basque companies that form the food value chain.

The purpose of this recognition is to develop the culture of innovation among companies in the Basque food value chain, stimulate business excellence in the sector as a driver of competitiveness and give prestige to the award-winning companies.

Categories

Technological Innovation: it will reward a company that has developed and introduced a new product, packaging, or technology to the market or has successfully improved one of them, providing a competitive advantage for the development of its business.

Business Innovation: this category will recognize changes in business processes or models. Aspects related to the implementation of production, logistics, distribution, or product or service support activities that are new or provide a significant improvement will be taken into account.

Innovation in Markets: the BTEMs will highlight new strategies or commercial concepts that bring about a significant improvement. Thus, market strategies aimed at internationalisation will be valued, as well as the exploration of new channels such as digital.

These three categories coincide with the three Strategic Action Areas defined in the Basque Government’s economic and competitiveness strategy, which form part of the Basque Food Cluster’s own Strategic Plan and AZTI’s Strategic Plan.

The awards ceremony will take place in the context of the Food 4 Future World Summit which will be held from 16 to 18 April at Bilbao Exhibition Center – BEC.

Call for awards open until 13 March
