The healthy and sustainable production and consumption of proteins is a key lever to achieve food system transformation. It is essential to improve sustainability within our current protein production system to meet the consumer’s growing demand for protein and sustainability. It is critical to balance animal-based protein consumption with plant-based alternatives consumption on one side; and the sustainable production of these proteins. The objective is to optimize protein production and consumption for nutritionally healthy and environmentally sustainable diets.
