Which path should the global food industry take to meet current challenges on environment protection, demographic growth and resource management? Centralized production has shown inefficiencies and ingredients, that could be sourced locally, often travel long distances to reach manufacturing centers. Localization of production, closer to raw materials and final consumers, is the solution to produce cheaper, faster and safer, and thus making sustainable food accessible to more people in more places.
